Demi Lovato has been suffering from bullying for many years. The young singer is only 22 years old and her fame has put her in the spotlight and we’ve watched her grow up before our very eyes. She has confessed with having eating disorders due the added pressure of being thin, but now she’s confident and has put that behind her. Now she’s working as a spokesperson for Tampax and Always Radiant Collection, helping inspire other girls through the #BuiltByGirls campaign.

In the past she has made it perfectly clear that she’s not perfect, but that’s o.k. She even posted a photo of herself saying that not having a thigh gap is perfectly o.k. She encourages young girls to be confident in their skin, no matter what size they are.

A photograph with her sister Madison De La Garza surfaced this week on Instagram, where she is looking all grown up and much different than her days as Rosita in Desperate Housewives. In the past Lovato has publicly defended her little sister when she was body-shamed for being overweight, not to mention that she suffers from scolosis, which is an abnormal curvature of the spine.

In an interview with Cambio Lovato says: “There are so many things in this world that are created by women, and I think that’s really exciting for our generation. Back in the day, it was really hard for women to be heard. Now, not only are we being heard, but we’re creating things, creating music, we’re inventing things…it just makes me more proud to be a woman.
