Salma Hayek Says Women Are More Demanding Than Men
There is so much pressure to stay young these days. Women are often submitting themselves through painful diets and procedures just so they could look young, so it’s always good when you hear of women accepting aging gracefully. Salma Hayek turned 50 this year and she opens up about the pressures of staying young in Hollywood, as well as how women demand so much of themselves.
Salma Hayek on Aging
“I will sometimes say, ‘I am 50 years old! Why do I have to look good? I already got my guy!'” says Hayek to The Edit. The Mexican actress married her husband, François-Henri Pinault in 2009 and has a 9-year-old daughter with him.
“The worst part of the aging process has been my eyes. Not the wrinkles — the eyes themselves,” she reveals. “I’m such a visual person and [now] I cannot read without depending on glasses … It has been really, really sad. The eyes, for me, that’s worse than the menopause.”
