On its 20th anniversary, Ford Warriors in Pink commissioned the ‘Drive the Conversation’ national survey to examine the state of conversation around
breast health among adult women, with specific emphasis on mothers and daughters.
While breast cancer was cited as the third most concerning health topic for women, only a quarter of women report being most concerned about breast cancer.

There are still over one-third of women who only think about their breast health when their doctor mentions it, and only 18% of women report that breast health
is something you only need to think about when you are older.
Staggering Stats:
- 89% of women believe doctors should perform a breast exam at least once a year, yet only 1 in 5 women say they have been examined less than once a year.
- One in 10 have never had a doctor examine them.
- One quarter of women admit not knowing how to correctly perform a self-breast exam, while three-quarters of women report their doctor has shown them how to perform a self-breast exam.
- 63% of the respondents report learning how to perform a self-breast exam by reading a printed guide, with only 19 % noting their mother showed them.
