From Sunday, March 23 through Sunday, April 6, 2014, The Secret Garden, the theme of this year’s floral extravaganza, will offer spectators a peek behind the magic and majesty of lush landscapes.

“This year, we’ll travel on a magical journey of discovery. Macy’s own Secret Garden will be filled with wonder and fantasy. Lush foliage and fragrant flowers delight at every turn. As you pass through the gateway you will be enveloped by rich and dynamic colors, elaborate scenic elements and breath-taking landscaping that will showcase hidden floral treasures,” said Mike Gansmoe, the producer of the show.

For more than 65 years, Macy’s Flower Show has delighted generations of floral aficionados with over-the-top presentations of sumptuous gardens that showcase millions of live flowers, plants and trees from around the globe. Born of many terrains, Macy’s Flower Show features disparate flora blooming in unison despite their various internal climatic DNA. Taking root in unexpected settings including store countertops, specially-designed architecture and even full-scale auditorium presentations, Macy’s Flower Show is staged in unique fashion at each of the five locations nationwide. Greeting spectators into the floral fantasyland are Macy’s dramatic estate gates. These 14-foot tall wrought iron gates set the scene, framing the first spectacular garden and its centerpiece, a 12-foot tall floral gown that will leave fashionistas in awe.

In addition to serving as the official celebration for the start of the spring season, Macy’s Flower Show is also a prime showcase for some of the nation’s most renowned floral and entertaining designers. These décor wizards will bring to life the rotating Flower Show favorite – Bouquet of the Day. The one-of-kind floral creations are stunning centerpieces that interpret the theme of the show through the lens of each designer’s unique aesthetic. These limited-time masterpieces are always a highlight of the show and will be in place at all five shows nationwide.

The Macy’s Flower Show is also the perfect backdrop for two weeks of in-store special events, including fashion shows, cooking demonstrations and celebrity appearances that will delight floral fanatics while celebrating the rejuvenating power of the season.

Set for a return engagement this year is Macy’s Cherry Blossom Show in Washington, D.C. A dazzling array of the delicate blossoms will flower inside Macy’s Metro Center store in celebration of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in the capital city. From Sunday, March 30 through Sunday, April 13, over 30 Okame and Snow Goose Cherry Blossom trees will line the store aisles flanked by additional colorful ornamentation of flowers that bring spring to the aisles of the downtown shopping destination.

Free to the public, Macy’s Flower Show and Macy’s Cherry Blossom Show will be open during regular store hours. For additional information about these events contact the Macy’s Flower Show Hotline at (212) 494-4495, or visit www.macys.com/flowershow.
