“Your skin is a window into your habits and lifestyle,” says Joanna Vargas to Health. She is a skin expert and believes that it only takes 4 steps to achieve great skin. The first thing that you have to do is cleanse your skin at home with a foaming wash. She promises that if you follow these four steps, you will see a big difference in as little as 2 weeks.

1. Exfoliate

There are many benefits to exfoliating your skin, such as, “improved texture and tone, better product absorption, and so on—but make sure the formula is gentle.” Look for products that contain lactic or fruit acids, which are more gentle and less irritating to sensitive skin.

One of her favorite DIY scrub recipe includes ½ cup of plain yogurt, ½ cup of cornmeal, and ¼ cup of grapefruit juice. Mix the ingredients and let it cool in the fridge before applying it. “This gentle combo of physical (cornmeal) and chemical (yogurt) exfoliators deflakes without irritating,” Vargas explains. “Grapefruit juice is great for deep-cleaning pores, as well as for anti-aging.” Rinse off after 2 minutes for smoother skin.woman exfoliating skin
