¿Qué Tan Importante Es El Sueño Para Sus Riñones?

 

Para las personas con una enfermedad renal crónica, dormir poco podría aumentar las probabilidades de que la enfermedad empeore, sugiere una nueva investigación.

“Dormir poco y dormir de forma fragmentada son factores de riesgo significativos, pero poco valorados, de progresión de la enfermedad renal crónica”, comentó la Dra. Ana Ricardo, de la Universidad de Illinois, en Chicago.woman sleeping

“Nuestra investigación se suma al conocimiento acumulado con respecto a la importancia de dormir para la función renal, y hace hincapié en la necesidad de diseñar y poner a prueba intervenciones clínicas para mejorar los hábitos de sueño en individuos con enfermedad renal crónica”, comentó en un comunicado de prensa de la Sociedad Americana de Nefrología (American Society of Nephrology).

Pero no está claro a partir del estudio que la falta de sueño sea lo que provoca el empeoramiento de la insuficiencia renal. El estudio solo pudo encontrar una asociación entre estos factores.
