Now to the bad stuff…
Yoga pants are great for working out and if you do work out with them and sweat, then it might be good idea to take them off. Wearing yoga pants for an extended period of time can invite bacteria and fungus to grow, causing yeast infections, zits and even rashes down there. Folliculitis is the inflammation of the hair follicle that can come from damage or blocking of follicles, which happens when you wear tight clothes, which can also cause chaffing.
Our recommendation is to practice good hygiene. Yes yoga pants are super comfy, but they shouldn’t be worn all day, everyday. It’s ok to wear yoga pants to work out, to run errands, and even to drop off your kids. But, if you’re going to workout in your yoga pants, make sure you wash them often and that they’re not that tight. Your skin needs to breathe and buying a good pair of yoga pants might not only make you look better, but the quality of material also can make a difference.
