Nuevo Hallazgo Podría Dar Un Diagnóstico Más Preciso Del Parkinson

Unos investigadores afirman haber descubierto un defecto en las células que podría ser común en todas las formas de la enfermedad de Parkinson.

El defecto tiene un rol importante en la muerte de un grupo de células nerviosas cuya pérdida es una característica del Parkinson, según el equipo de la Universidad de Stanford. Los investigadores realizaron una serie de experimentos con células de pacientes de Parkinson y de personas sanas.parkinsons

“Hallamos un biomarcador molecular que caracteriza no solo a los casos familiares de Parkinson, en que la predisposición a la enfermedad es claramente hereditaria, sino también a las formas esporádicas de la afección, que son mucho más prevalentes, y en que la contribución genética o no existe o todavía no se ha descubierto”, afirmó la autora principal, la Dra. Xinnan Wang, profesora asistente de neurocirugía.
