Importance Of Patient Education

In recent news, the discussion of augmented reality, or AR, has come up as a way to educate patients on tools, equipment and protocol. With the use of cell phones or tablets, one would be able to hover over a particular piece of equipment and gain knowledge on its use and how it will be used in their own examination.

This idea of AR in the exam room would benefit children as well, since they may be most likely to understand such technology. The sharing of information and explanation has to how it is all being used will benefit the patient in many ways.

Another option is using AR at home for those who are encountering rehabilitation needs. The application would help explain exactly what needs to be done through text and video.

The era of technology is expanding to give people information that they need in order to lead a healthier life. The concepts of these advancements will allow for people to understand their medical conditions at home as well as allow them to think critically as to how to treat themselves better.
