+ 10 Health-Related Facts That Will Surprise You

__________

5. Cold, cold. Do colder temperatures benefit health? According to research, they reduce allergies and inflammation, help you think more clearly, and perform daily tasks better. The cold is also a barrier to disease. Mosquitoes, which carry diseases such as Zika, Nile virus, and malaria, flee the winter.

6. Bananas. They have 30% of your recommended daily intake of vitamin B6, which helps the brain produce serotonin, a mood stabilizer. Eating a banana relieves depression and anxiety by boosting serotonin levels in your body. It’s also the chemical that enables you to sleep and digest food.

7. Flu. A person with the flu is contagious for up to seven days after the first symptoms. That’s why the flu spreads so quickly and easily at work or home.

8. Optimism. Several studies have found that if optimism increases, deaths from cancer, infections, strokes, etc., decrease. People with higher optimism have a 40% lower risk of heart disease.

9. Laughter. The heart can beat even when it is out of the body. The first known case of heart disease was discovered in the remains of a 3500-year-old Egyptian momy. Most heart attacks occur on Mondays. A woman’s heart beats a little faster than a man’s heart.

Laughter is excellent for the heart. The saying goes that laughter is the best medicine, and there is some truth. Laughter releases dopamine and other feel-good chemicals in the brain, which can help reduce stress. Twenty minutes of laughter a day may not keep the doctor away, but it can help your immune system function properly.

10. Differences between the sexes. From the age of 14 to 51, women’s iron needs are generally more significant than men’s. Blood loss explains these needs related to menstruation. On average, men’s muscle mass is more remarkable than women’s, and their skeletal muscles are faster and more powerful. But, female muscles resist fatigue better and recover faster.

The brain’s structure, its way of processing information, and its interactions with chemical signals differ in men and women. For example, the gray matter that stores data is more abundant in men. And the memory center is more developed in women.
