5 Techniques to Program and Control Our Dreams

Many of us wonder if we can program our dreams. Can it be done? Yes. People say before going to sleep, they want to dream about such and such a thing, and it happens. Since the time of the ancient Greeks, who believed the gods sent them messages through dreams, dreaming has been one of the deepest mysteries of human life.

‘Dream science’ is an emerging field that examines the content of dreams and their formation. It looks like recurrent brain patterns during the REM (rapid eye movement) period when so-called “lucid dreams” are experienced.

Lucid dreamers have the power to control their dreams. They can create new objects, change their shape, or even fly. The following keys will help you program your dreams.

1 – Record your dreams. Make sure you have a notebook and a pen or voice recorder on your bedside table to remember your dreams right after waking up. Remember, the mind is not fully active during the minutes after waking up, and you will forget what you dreamed in less than a minute. That is why it is essential to record dreams.

2 – Incubate the dream. Before falling asleep, focus on mentally repeating a phrase or visualizing an image. Traveling to faraway or fantastic places is one of the dreams that this technique can facilitate.

3 – Waking up and going back to sleep. To use this technique, you should sleep for about six hours, wake up, do a quiet activity, like reading or playing a video game, for 20 to 40 minutes, and then go back to sleep. This way, we will get in touch with the REM phase, when dreams are more vivid.

4 – A wish or seeing an image. Remember that in dreams, everything is possible, whether you want to become a dinosaur or talk to a deceased loved one. Two main ways to control dreams are by wishing for something and picturing it. In a high voice, express your intention. Example: “I would like to fly over the Earth.” And you’ll probably dream about it.

5 – Daydreaming. It provides an outlet for creativity, helps you relax, and helps you escape from reality. To start daydreaming, find a comfortable place to sit where you won’t be disturbed, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Focus on the things that make you happy. Imagine yourself in a place you’ve always wanted to go or what you would do if you won the lottery.
