Red wine consumption has been linked to a decreased risk of depression in the elderly and middle-aged. The risk of being depressed is reduced by drinking between two and seven glasses of red wine a week.

According to the World Health Organization, it would reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes by 40%. The anti-inflammatory properties of this antioxidant increase the diameter of blood vessels and thus facilitate blood circulation.
3 Reduce the risk of cancer. According to a report published in one of the American Association for Cancer Research journals, moderate consumption of red wine can reduce the risk of lung cancer in men. Each glass of red wine consumed per month would reduce the risk of lung cancer by 2% for a middle-aged man.
4 Extend life expectancy. According to a Dutch study, men who drink a glass of wine daily would have a life expectancy of 3.8 years higher than non-drinkers. They also have an 85% lower risk of dementia. Moderate consumption of red wine could prolong not only the lifespan of a person, but also the active age.
