Currently there is a petition circulating and nearly 50,000 people have signed it asking Victoria’s Secret to make her an Angel. “I want to do this for the 50,000 people who signed the petition on,” she said in an interview with Time Magazine.

Carrera says that it’s very difficult being a trans-woman. “I feel like a lot of the time it’s the transgender people who are having a more difficult time fitting in with society, so we have those conversations and we to have those lessons about pronouns and the right words…I have to deal with functioning as a 20-something woman, trying to balance her life and her kids and her marriage,” she explains. Carrera says that she has to play catch-up and has to learn how to function day-to-day in the female population.
